About the Event

ABOUT THE RIDE 

The JLF Ride is returning in 2022. Test your limits, mentally and physically in our 4-day ride across iconic landscapes in South Australia.  

For a small group of cyclists, this exclusive event will see you ride through the picturesque city of Adelaide the Fleurieu Peninsula and the Adelaide Hills. Spanning over 500km over four days, The JLF Ride 2022 will be the ultimate endurance event all while raising awareness for bowel cancer prevention.  

As this event is not for the faint hearted, it is imperative that your body, mind and equipment can endure such a challenge.

Event dates and times

Wednesday 7 - Saturday 10 September 

With the exception of day 1 start time, the daily schedule looks a lot like this;

Breakfast: 7:00am – 8:00am
Luggage drop off:  from 7:00am – 8:15am
Ride briefing: from 8:15am
Ride depart: 8:30am
Ride approx. 100 – 135kms (distances, climbs and difficulty vary each day. On some days an extra loop for the keen is available)
Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea refreshment stops catered for (provisions at refreshment stops vary each day)
Ride finish: Your room keys and luggage will be available for you at the finish.
Dinner: 6:30pm – approx 9:00pm - (cash bar available)  

FUNDRAISING 

As a not-for-profit charity, fundraising events are essential to raise awareness for the prevention and early detection of bowel cancer. Your fundraising is an essential element of The JLF Ride. We encourage you to strive for a minimum fundraising target of $2,500.   
 
If you are successful in your registration, you will have the opportunity to kick off your own fundraising by making a tax-deductible donation.  
 
We have created posters and social media images for you to use to help with your fundraising campaign. You can find them in your account profile once your application is successful. You will also have the opportunity to kick off your own fundraising by making a tax deductible donation. 

COST AND INCLUSION  

$1,750 per person. Your registration fee includes the following: 

  • Jodi Lee Foundation event jersey 
  • 3 nights share accommodation, there is opportunity to upgrade you to single room accommodation 
  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner supplied including non-alcoholic beverages 
  • Water supplies during the ride 
  • Transport of personal items 
  • Sweep vehicle support  
  • Mechanical support 
  • First aid support 
  • Covid safe planed event 
  • Event management and logistical support 

Entrant to supply the following 

  • Registration/entry fee of $1,750 
  • Fundraising target of $2,500 
  • Road bike in sound mechanical condition  
  • Approved Australian standard helmet 
  • Bike lights, front and rear 
  • Drink bottles for your bike 
  • Spare tube, puncture repair kit and pump 
  • Mobile phone 
  • Personal medical requirements 
  • Personal items (such as change of clothes, toiletries etc that will be transported by the event)  

Your registration cost is not a donation and does not support your fundraising total

Entry is permitted to anyone 18 years and older

Accommodation is twin share and is provided on the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights only.

If you would like to purchase an upgrade to a single room, please request this during your registration. There are limited rooms available and each venue differs regarding availability and price. Upgrades will be allocated on a first come basis. The event team will be in contact to communicate the costs and details if your application for an upgrade is successful.

 

COVID-19

The event will be a COVID Safe event, and will follow the relevant guidelines and instruction of SA Health at the time of the event.

It is the responsibility of individuals to keep up to date with current SA Health advice and instruction regarding travelling from interstate, testing, and quarantining.
