May is a challenging month.
It was May 2018, when I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Bowel Cancer.
It completely changed mine and my family's lives. However, I was lucky that it was found before it had spread too far and chemo seems to have prevented recurrence.

Last May 2021, I reached a three year milestone and should have been celebrating, but instead I attended a funeral of an amazing lady that I was lucky to have met during treatment, whose story was so similar to mine, but hers had a different ending. I still think of her often.

Bowel Cancer - once considered an old man's disease, is killing too many amazing young people.

So this Friday and Saturday I am hiking 72km, for me, for my family, for Sarah and for the hope that we can raise awareness about preventing and recognising this horrible disease.

Those who have followed along below know I've done smaller treks for this cause in the past. But this year, I'm finally fit enough to attempt the whole thing!
