About the Trek

YORKE PENINSULA SOUTH AUSTRALIA
13 & 14 MAY 2022

The JLF Trek is an endurance event designed to challenge you physically and mentally. A medium to high level of fitness is required but with the right preparation and attitude you’ll be amazed at what you can achieve. Whether you complete the full two-day event or a shorter section, this weekend will leave you inspired and ready to take on the world.

The JLF Trek will take place along the eastern section of Yorke Peninsula, along sections of the Walk the Yorke walking trail, taking in the amazing views of the sea views and diverse coastline.

Registrations close 13 April 2022 unless sold out prior and places are strictly limited. Don’t miss out on this incredible challenge.

Entry is permitted to ages 14 and over (participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times). Your entry fee covers the cost of this fully supported event, including safety and management, food and drinks at checkpoints and a finish line celebration. It is not a donation.

EVENT BRIEFING & BIB COLLECTION

Thursday 12 May 2022
Stansbury Institute, 6 Weaver Street, Stansbury
Bib collection from 5:00pm – 6:00pm
Event briefing 6:00pm – 7:00pm
Post Briefing Dinner: we recommend you book at the Dalyrmple Hotel, Stansbury

At the event briefing you will not only receive your official bib and meet fellow trekkers, but you will also be provided with a snapshot of what to expect on the trek including details of the route, any last minute changes and tips and tricks to get the most out of your experience. Safety and emergency procedures will also be covered.

If you are trekking on both Friday and Saturday, we strongly encourage you to attend. If you are trekking on Saturday only we appreciate it’s unlikely you will be able to make this briefing. The presentation will be e-mailed to all trekkers at the conclusion of the briefing.

Bibs will be available for collection from 5:00pm – 6:00pm on Thursday night prior to the briefing. You will not be permitted to take part in event without your bib. Bibs not collected at the briefing will be available at the bus loading location on the day of your Trek.

Following the briefing, we encourage you to support local and book a table at the Dalyrmple Hotel in Stansbury.

EVENT DAY TRANSPORT

We arrange coaches on both days to transport you to the start line. Please refer to the Trek details above for more information.

FINISH LINE CELEBRATION

Family and friends are welcome to join us at the event without a ticket, however - food and drink will only be available to registered participants and for those with a pre-purchased ticket.

THE FINE PRINT

The Jodi Lee Foundation is the event organiser. If we consider the route is unsafe due to heavy rain, lightning, high winds, bushfire or the like, we will re-route, find an alternative shortened course or cancel the event. No refund of registration fees or money raised will be made, and your registration fee cannot be transferred to another JLF Trek or event. Due to the months of preparation involved, the event will not be re-scheduled to any other weekend. We also reserve the right to change the route or checkpoint locations or distances as necessary. Any changes will be communicated to participants prior to the event. 

All Jodi Lee Foundation staff, contractors and volunteers are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Full vaccination is a condition of participation in The JLF Trek. Participants must show proof of vaccination status if requested.

Fundraising

Your registration fee covers part of the cost of the event, it is not a donation. We endeavour to cover the balance of the cost through the generous support of our sponsors. 

Your fundraising is an essential element of The JLF Trek as it allows us to continue to raise awareness to prevent bowel cancer. We encourage you to strive for the following individual fundraising targets.

When you register you will have the opportunity to kick off your own fundraising by making a tax-deductible donation.
